At Ítaca
We are addressed to all those people (children, adolescents, or adults) who consider requesting help from a professional to develop a normal life.
We work from the Cognitive-Behavioral model, which is based on the idea that people are born with a heredity and a certain temperament, with which we begin to interact with our environment. In this way, we learn patterns of behavior, both beneficial and harmful to ourselves and/or others.

Short duration
In general terms, the duration of therapy is short, but in the end it depends on the patient if they need more time or less.
Includes Tasks
To do between sessions, as a way to put into practice the aspects worked on in consultation.
Oriented to the present
The purpose of reflecting on the past is to generate changes in the present to achieve a more full and rewarding life.
Cognitive-Behavioral
Active - Directive
This means that changes require commitment and a leading role from the patient, who is not limited to attending the sessions, but also produces gradual changes in their daily life. The therapist is more directive: he complements listening with interventions that promote not only reflection but also action.
Collaborative relationship
Between the therapist and patient, in which the role of the therapist consists of advising and accompanying them on the path towards the changes they wish to promote.
Effectiveness by Goals
To do between sessions, as a way to put into practice the aspects worked on in consultation.
Phases of
Therapy
Evaluation
Through standardized tests and records we will collect the necessary information to understand the problematic behavior.
Diagnosis
After the evaluation, the data we have obtained about the target behavior will be explained to the client.
Treatment
Putting into practice the techniques we have to help the client confront and solve said behavior.
Follow-up
After completing the treatment, a month later the client will be contacted in order to verify that the objectives achieved in therapy remain.
